METHOD AND PLANT FOR CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF STRIP MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: continuous metal coating. SUBSTANCE: main strip with metallically clean surface is passed through metal bath and produced coating is levelled with help of rolls after strip passage through bath melt. Main strip prior to introduction into bath melt is preliminarily heated to temperature considerably exceeding of room temperature, particularly, to temperature of 200 C. Preliminary heating is effected with the help of indirect heat exchange with bath melt in nonoxidizing medium, and fresh melt introduced into bath with melt having elevated temperature corresponding to heat losses for preliminary heating. Device has sealing appliance made in the form of flat body deeply entering metal melt in direction of feed of main strip. Flat body has flat passage channel in the form of rectangular parallelepiped enveloping with some gap of main strip. Wide walls are parallel to plane of main strip and made of high-temperature material in the form of heat-radiating surfaces. Plant also has appliance ensuring maintenance of nonoxidizing atmosphere in zone of passage channel. Appliance is connected to sealing device.
