FIELD: gas treatment. SUBSTANCE: manganese dioxide is mixed with bentonite clay (binder) to form granules, which are then dried, broken down, and thermally treated. Distinguishing feature of invention consists in that manganese dioxide-containing suspension is supplemented by barium hydroxide simultaneously prepared when performing alkali treatment of mixture of manganese hydroxide with water-soluble barium salt for 1-4 hr, after which manganese dioxide (40-60%) and barium hydroxide (30-50%) are mixed with bentonite clay (5-15%).
