FIELD: railway track maintenance and repair machinery and equipment. SUBSTANCE: method for trueing of railway track according to preset displacements is realized by undertaking two passes of long-base track maintenance machine. During first pass of machine simultaneously measured are deflections of rail strings of disrepaired rail track from middle of chord made in the form of wave of rail-sleeper structure located ahead. It is created by track displacement mechanism. Section of component located ahead has rigidity in horizontal plane. Deflection is from middle of chord and ordinate. Deflections are distances between head of basic rail string and end of section of aforesaid component located behind chord section of this component. During second pass of long-base track maintenance machine, rail track is displaced until equality of ordinates being measured and command ordinates which are equal to algebraic sum of design displacements and ordinates measured at corresponding points during first pass of long-base track maintenance machine. Application of aforesaid method and device allows for better accuracy in trueing operations. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 3 dwg
