FIELD: gas treatment. SUBSTANCE: hot process gases are passed through contact reactor wherein they come into contact with particles of absorption substance chemically reactive to gaseous impurities, which results in conversion of the latter into dust separated when process gases are further passed through dust separator. Predominate part of dust separated in dust separator moves to mixer wherein dust is agitated and moistened to form recycling absorption substance added to process gases together with fresh absorption substance. Dust is retained in mixer so long and recycles such number of times that total residence time for wet quicklime in mixer is large enough to basically complete interaction of quicklime with water fed into mixer and to form lime.
