FIELD: working and extraction of ice blocks. SUBSTANCE: the method provides for melting of ice blocks according to a predetermined contour by ice cutters heated by an external power source. First ice is melted by one or several ice cutters in the vertical direction. Produced water is pumped out. As soon as the preset depth is attained, cutting in the horizontal direction is performed. At the same time antifreeze is injected in the zone of cutting. The ice block separated from the mass is extracted by a ship and launched to water for transportation. EFFECT: enhanced convenience of transportation of extracted large-sized ice blocks. 6 dwg
