FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method of measurement of magnetic characteristics of media and physical quantities of density and pressure is intended for use in devices for automatic measurement of magnetic permeability and physical quantities of density and pressure. Sample of tested medium with known temperature is put into variable-induction pickup placed in oscillatory circuit in which continuous undamped resonance oscillations of electromagnetic field are excited. Energy is pumped into oscillatory circuit. Oscillations are transformed to digital form, oscillation period T of oscillatory circuit is found by measurement of time interval within which specified number of oscillation periods of oscillatory circuit is confined. Magnetic susceptibility, density and pressure are computed with the use of obtained value T. Measurements are conducted twice for samples of reference medium with different values of density to determine magnetic characteristics introduced by medium.
