FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring parameters of angular motion involves periodic measurement of increments of the turning angle of the inertia block about the housing in a given time interval. The inertia block is made from magnetostrictive material and is placed in a gaseous medium. Mechanical vibrations are generated in the inertia block with ultrasonic frequency ranging from 20 kHz to 50 kHz under the effect of an alternating magnetic field applied to the inertia block. Resonance oscillations of the electromagnetic field are excited in six oscillatory circuits and currents flowing through six inductance coils for pumping energy into the six oscillatory circuits are measured, and the increment of the turning angle of the inertia block about the housing is measured by changing the frequency of resonance oscillations of the electromagnetic field of the six oscillatory circuits.
EFFECT: high measurement accuracy, manufacturability, longer service life and reduced size of the device which realises the method.
