FIELD: ecology. SUBSTANCE: device is designed as cylindrical glass housing with through channel, through which environment under monitoring is passed, which has sealed input and pumping ends. The channel comprises buffer solution, which is located in cartridge and measures pH level of enzymatic reaction, enzyme, which catalyzes substrate hydrolysis reaction, substrate- indicator system, which provide chromogenic effect, and absorbent layer, which concentrates material under investigation. Substrate-indicator system is enclosed in cartridge and is located over absorbent layer towards environment passing direction. Enzyme is immobilized on absorbent surface, which is located in input end of tube, is made from absorption material and is split into two parts by means of shielding layer, which is made from inactive material. One part of absorbent layer is used for interaction to material under investigation and serves for indication. Second part is separated from material under investigation and serves as reference.
