FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has external electrode shaped as a cup containing an electrode inside. The electrodes are manufactured from metals possessing different electrochemical potentials. The height of the electrodes is bounded by the level of working end face surface of the device. Cavity is formed between the electrodes providing spatial separation of the electrodes. Electric current of radial direction arises when applying the device to patient skin. The current is directed towards the applicator center or peripheral part depending on relative positions of the active and passive electrodes. The device is optionally used for making electrophoresis in the application zones. Device version having cavity walls coated with dielectric film and the cavity filled with hydrophilic insert is to be used in this case.
