FIELD: sanitary and hygienic articles. SUBSTANCE: toothbrush has handle, neck and head with bristles. Head is provided with two current-conductive plate. One of plates serving anode is manufactured from silver, and other plate serving cathode is manufactured from gold. Plates are positioned so that they extend along side surfaces of toothbrush head and connected by wire. When toothbrush is used for teeth cleaning, contact potential difference exists between plates, and silver plate is positively charged. When plates come into contact with mouth cavity contents, ions Ag+ are diffused from silver electrode into solution. Diffusion maintains current flow in wire to provide for ionization process till complete consumption of silver electrode. Ionization process is not accompanied with chemical reactions, so production of hazardous chemical compositions is prevented. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved prophylaxis of dental and mouth cavity diseases. 2 cl, 3 dwg
