SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes two short-circuited electrodes 1 and 2 made of different metals or their compounds and chemically non-active relative to electrolyte. Water, secretions of skin or mucous membranes are used as electrolyte. Contact potential difference is provided between said electrodes. At contact with electrolyte electrode having value of work function of electrons less than that of other electrode provides ion separation. Method of iontophoresis comprises steps of placing apparatus on skin or mucous membranes of patient in order to create between similar charges mutually opposite efforts for imparting to separated ions directed motion.
