FIELD: construction industry, manufacture of glass blocks to glaze buildings and structures. SUBSTANCE: glass block includes three sheets of window glass placed at some distance one from another and connected over perimeter with the use of sealing material to form two closed spaces. One space is filled with gas whose pressure in space equals atmospheric pressure. Rarefaction of gas is provided in second space. Distances between internal surfaces of glass sheets forming first and second closed spaces is chosen from relation L1/L2>10, where L1 is distance between internal surfaces of glass sheets forming first closed space; L2 is distance between internal surfaces of glass sheets forming second closed space. Glass block can have thickness of glass sheets forming second closed space amounting to 0.25-0.7 of thickness of third glass sheet. EFFECT: enhanced resistance to heat transfer and protection against noise. 1 cl, 2 dwg
