FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: gas distribution mechanism of an internal combustion engine includes valves consisting of plates (2) rigidly attached to stems (1) located in a movable manner in guide sleeves of a head of a cylinder block of the internal combustion engine. In stems (1) of valves there are through channels (6) throughout their length, within the boundaries of guide sleeves of the head of the cylinder block to their plates (2); longitudinal symmetry axes of the above channels are located perpendicular to vertical symmetry axes of the latter. Diameters of channels (6) differ from each other throughout the height of stems so that their maximum values have channels located closer to plates (2), and minimum values - at guide sleeves of the head of the cylinder block.

EFFECT: increasing an opening area of a valve.
