FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: ferrograph is used to supervise dynamics of wear-out of friction unit in process of its running-in and/or operation, for example, in internal combustion engine, in gear-box, reduction gear, bearing and so on. Invention can also be used to find concentration of particles of various sizes and/or magnetization when manufacturing ferro-and-paramagnetic powders. Ferrograph includes one capacitor and one controlled magnet placed outside of oil flow and forming magnetic field of various intensity in turn in space of capacitor. Duration of existence of magnetic field is determined by device of secondary conversion of signal that incorporates unit measuring time of achievement of preset change of capacitance of capacitor for specified intensity of magnetic field. EFFECT: expanded diagnostic capabilities of ferrograph, increased accuracy and enlarged range of determination of sizes of particles and their concentration differing by volume and/or magnetization. 1 dwg
