FIELD: mechanical engineering; diagnosing condition of friction units. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to checking of wear of sliding bearing shells in process of operation. According to proposed method, amplitude A measured in mV, and duration S of discrete signals of acoustic emission expressed by oscillation number are recorded at constant shaft speed in process of friction. Using parameters, thus found, wear of shell is determined by formula m = m0+kMEEAЭ, where m0 and kME are parameters found at preliminary laboratory tests for friction at speed corresponding to speed of sliding of bearing contact surfaces, and EAЭ is energy of acoustic emission connected with process of separation of wear particles. Value of acoustic emission energy EAЭ is determined as summary energy of only those acoustic emission signals which satisfy condition S/A>0,2 mB-1, with provision of maximum correlation of summary energy of acoustic emission with value of wear. EFFECT: simplified criterium of discrimination of acoustic emission signals connected with destruction and wearing of friction surfaces, reduced time taken for analysis, improved reliability of results of checking. 2 dwg
