FIELD: evaporating and solidifying salt-containing solutions. SUBSTANCE: method and device are used for evaporating and solidifying salt-containing solutions such as those containing borates and sulfates in enclosed vessels under effect of heating by microwaves. Solution to be evaporated is supplied to enclosed vessel either continuously or in batches. Salt-containing solution is heated in enclosed vessel provided with cover incorporating microwave guide. The latter turns into horn or is provided with horn. Cross-sectional area of horn and/or distance to liquid solution surface can be varied so that microwaves are actually radiated directly onto salt-containing solution.
