FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has feeding table 1, main clamping belt-type feeder 2 having pair of vertical belt conveyors, and main separating member 3. Feeder 2 and separating member 3 are positioned in succession above feeding table 1 in the course of transportation. Auxiliary feeder 4 is positioned above main feeder 2 and separating member 5 is disposed under feeder 4. Each of separating members 3 and 5 has pair of drive beaters 6 mounted for synchronous rotation in opposite directions and provided with replaceable flexible members 7. Ends of flexible members 7 are oriented in parallel with beater generatrices. Peripheral edges of ends of flexible members of adjacent beaters are mutually overlapped. Such construction allows upper layer, i.e. cork and bast, to be effectively removed from roots and rootstock. EFFECT: simplified construction, reduced labor intensity and increased efficiency. 2 dwg
