FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: machine has frame 1, carriers-feelers 5 and 6, and is further provided with working tool 7 for undercutting, lifting, positioning and primary separation of root layer of soil and working tool for secondary separation of soil, with working tools being positioned in succession. Working tool 7 is made in the form of U-shaped undercutting knife with front parts provided with cutting edges 19 on detachable blades 20. Devices 21 for lifting undercut soil layers are positioned on remote part of horizontal blade. Working tool for secondary soil separation has drive rotor 24 with radial hooks. Rotor 24 is positioned on auxiliary frame 26 pivotally connected with main frame 1 and movable between operating and transport positions. Auxiliary frame 26 has screens 37 and 38 arranged forward of rotor 24. EFFECT: increased efficiency in extracting licorice roots, reduced power consumption, provision for efficient cleaning of roots and increased yield. 13 cl, 2 dwg
