FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: device has two telescopically coupled rods with heads secured on rods. Heads are provided with cavities for locating relative to brackets. Rule is secured on one of rods. According to proposed method, distance is determined between axes of symmetry of vehicle brackets, and size between datum surfaces of carrier is found. Then carrier is secured in brackets of rail vehicle and the latter is placed on checked section of track, and carrier is installed and secured in brackets to provide required preload of flexible members. Preload of flexible members of carrier is calculated by definite formula. EFFECT: elimination of nonuniform loading of flexible members. 11 cl, 3 dwg
