FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, in particular, treatment of metallurgical melts with powder reagents outside furnace. SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing powder wire enclosed in steel casing filled with metal aluminum and metal calcium into liquid melt. Wire used for treatment has ratio of content of calcium in filler and content of filler in powder wire 0.8-1.2. Weight rate of calcium introduced into liquid metal is maintained within the range of 0.5-2.0 g/t/s. EFFECT: increased usage of calcium and aluminum, complete globularization of nonmetal inclusions and improved casting and mechanical properties of steel.
