FIELD: metallurgy; off-furnace treatment of metallurgical melts by powder-like reagents.
SUBSTANCE: proposed wire has steel envelope and powder filler made from aluminum and calcium at ratio of (1.2-4.0):1; content of calcium is equal to 8-25 mass-% of mass of wire. As wire is immersed in melt, strong homogeneous calcium- and aluminum-containing compound is formed inside wire attaining deep passivation of calcium, synchronization of processes of liberation of modifier into melt in time and melting of alloy formed in filler, thus ensuring complete globalization of non-metallic inclusions.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
