SUBSTANCE: shutoff member installed between movable head of cylinder and cylinder liner consists of U-shaped ring and fitted-in rectangular-section ring and heat sensitive element consisting of U-shaped ring and rectangular section ring, spaces in between being filled with active mass featuring high temperature expansion coefficient (mixture of ceresine and copper powder). Flexible member in form of four leaf compression springs is installed on studs of cylinder head. Engine compression ratio is set automatically depending on temperature of cylinder head in zone of heat sensitive element. EFFECT: increased economy of engine at idling and under loads. 3 dwg
