FIELD: paper, textile, chemical and other industries. SUBSTANCE: device has drive motor with roll rotational speed transmitter and power amplifier coupled with transmitter, roll revolution counter, tension pickup and tension setting unit connected by outputs with power amplifier, and wound material length pickup. Device has unit calculating mean thickness of material in roll connected by its inputs with length pickup and roll rotational speed transmitter and by output, with tension setting unit. It has also unit for calculating mean thickness of material in winding surface layer connected by its inputs through electronic switches to length pickup and roll rotational speed transmitter by output, to input of tension setting unit. Control inputs of electronic switches are connected with output of unit setting number of turns in layer. Device provides correction of tension setting signal basing on information on difference in mean thickness of material in roll and thickness of material in surface layer of roll. EFFECT: improved accuracy of stabilization of material winding density in roll. 1 dwg
