FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly preparation of porous carbon materials having pore size of greater than 100 nm involved actively in absorption process and pore size of less than 10 nm which have absorbing power. SUBSTANCE: essence of the invention lies in molding semifinished product and forming nanoporosity therein as thermochemical treatment proceeds. Conditions for molding semifinished product with transport porosity are selected so as to prepare products with predetermined size of nanopores, distribution thereof in product volume and with pore volume. Method enables one to prepare product having discrete size of one or more types of nanopores within 0.6-2.5 mm with deviation from average value for each of sizes of not higher than 10%. There are variants of nanoporosity uniformly distributed and uniformly distributed in volume. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 22 cl, 2 ex, 1 tbl
