FIELD: composites. SUBSTANCE: invention aims to create essentially pore-free shaped composites meeting elevated requirements regarding their specific mechanical characteristics and wear resistance. For that, titanium powder or mixture thereof with titanium carbide is molded into a blank, which is thermally treated in gaseous hydrocarbon or hydrocarbon mixture medium and then heated in inert medium at 1300-1600 C and finally impregnated with melt of metal from the group of Al, Mg or their alloys. Invention can be applied in the field of developing construction materials with elevated size stability and rigidity, materials for wear-resistant insertions, and electrotechnical-destination materials.
