FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to development of heavy oil and natural bitumen fields by thermal methods using water steam, petroleum solvents, and a variety of additives. Solvent and heat carrier (steam with 0.1 to 2.0% of alkaline surfactants) are alternately injected into formation, said solvent being liquid pyrolysis product, fraction 35-270, in amounts 5 to 20% of the volume of the formation zone to be treated. EFFECT: increased degree of recovery of heavy oils and natural bitumens. Simplified process. 3 tbl
