FIELD: shutting-off pipe lines carrying liquid and gaseous media; oil-and-gas producing and petrochemical industries; power engineering and other industries. SUBSTANCE: gate has body, solid wedge and seats with sealing surfaces. Seats are supported by bead of body and are sealed-up relative to body. Surface of seat is taper or spherical in shape. Center of sphere is located inside gate. Surface of body bead engageable with respective surface of seat is located at angle of 90 to 25 deg; it may be also made in form of chamfer. Method of assembly of this gate includes mounting seats in body followed by securing and sealing them by welding. Prior to securing the seats in body, wedge is mounted between them; then self-setting of seats and wedge relative to body is performed.
