WEDGE GATE VALVE Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC F16K3/12 

FIELD: mechanical engineering; valves and fittings.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wedge gate valves and it is designed for use as shutoff devices on process pipelines in different branches of industry. Proposed wedge gate valve has housing with sealing fields engaging with mating fields of wedge. Wedge consists of two self-aligning disks connected by central pin. Opposite coordinated ring grooves are made on inner sides of disks opposite to sealing fields. Ring rectangular spacer is fitted in grooves. One of outer corners is provided with spherical surface face. Said face engages with mating conical surface made on wall of groove.

EFFECT: simplified alignment of disks of disks, provision of overlapping of sealing fields of wedge and housing.
