FIELD: automatization of process of test of pointer-type instruments. SUBSTANCE: method of automatic test of pointer-type instruments is realized in device incorporating program-controlled optical scanner that scans scale of tested instrument with change of input signal from zero to rated value of terminal mark of scale, determines graphic dependence of angle of deflection of pointer on signal fed to input. In this case readings of tested instrument monotonously vary by known law within limits from zero to rated value of terminal point of scale.
