FIELD: testing pressurized vessels of reactors. SUBSTANCE: stability of pressurizing system-to-substrate joint is determined under conditions of gamma-ray absorbed dose of 1000 Mrad obtained while immersing it in beta-active water heated to 50-70 C. This is attained due to the fact that mentioned joint is dipped in liquid and subjected to ionizing beta- and gamma-rays while varying its temperature; in the process, pressurizing system is checked for condition throughout entire test period, check parameter being radiation doze absorbed by system by the moment of its breakdown. System backing is made of metal in the form of enclosed space with welded joint simulating real microcracks and poor penetration whereto pressurizing system under test is applied.
