FIELD: radioactive waste disposal. SUBSTANCE: device has storage unit 10 built up of concrete cylindrical body 11 with central chamber to receive wastes container A and coolant channels around central chamber. The latter is formed by vessel 13 best of cylindrical shape and mounted concentrically to concrete body 11 which is placed in concrete and hermetically sealed before grouting in concrete. Coolant channels are formed by set of tubes 14 which are also placed in concrete their clearances being permanently held open and communicating with inner space of vessel 13. Assembly of such concrete bodies is placed in central chamber of concrete cavity and filled with cooling water. EFFECT: improved safety in wastes storage due to reducing probability of their escape into surroundings. 10 cl, 4 dwg
