FIELD: nuclear physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to container devices for storing hazardous material, particularly used for final disposal of nuclear fuel. The container device has several protective cases placed one into the other successively. Each protective case has a sidewall and top and bottom end walls and has a chamber formed by these walls. The inner most protective case contains hazardous material and each previous protective case is inserted into the next. Space between the protective cases is filled with self-compacting concrete. Also proposed is a method of making the container device.
EFFECT: invention allows for designing a container device with very high mechanical strength due to alternation of layers made from concrete and other material.
