SUBSTANCE: invention provides novel copolymer of 1,2-dimethyl-5-vinylpyridinium methyl sulfate and N-vinylpyrrolidone of general formula , wherein n=75-9- mol %, m=0-22.5 mol, and p=1-2.5 mol 4, which is characterized by intrinsic viscosity 1.3-1.7 dl/g in 2 N NaCl solution at 30 C and which may be used as cationic flocculant accelerating suspension concentration and filtration processes and purification of return and waste waters.
