FIELD: fiber optics. SUBSTANCE: radiation-intensifying fiber-optic structure has at least one core selectively doped with active radiation intensifying particles and internal shell surrounding the core and used for reception of multimode pumping-radiation energy from external source, its localization, and transmission to core by multiple interaction with active particles of core as pumping radiation propagates along optical fiber. Cross-sectional area of internal shell is other-than-rectangular convex polygon. Actually uniform radiation field is built up within core using isotope distribution of various radiation modes carrying pumping energy.
