FIELD: production of chlorohydrocarbons by olefins chlorination. SUBSTANCE: reactor relates to device for production of 1,2-dichloroethane used as a solvent and product in industrial synthesis. Reactor has a cylindrical body, piles for intake of initial ethylene and chlorine, dichloroethane condensate and discharge of reaction products in the form of vapors together with absorbent gases. Reactor is provided with sectionalizing grates separating its body in height into separate sections, and internal circulation tube. Upper part of circulation tube is perforated with perforations in the form of rectangular windows located over circumference of circulation tube at base of sectionalizing grates or at base of sectionalizing grates of at least one upper section. Design of reactor allows higher adaptability to chlorination process and its intensification due to provision of process safety and increased rate of ethylene chlorination.
