METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SALVAGING OF USED UP TYRES AND WASTE OF MECHANICAL RUBBER GOODS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: salvaging of used up tyres and waste of mechanical rubber goods. SUBSTANCE: raw material placed in an extractor is subjected to thermal treatment at a temperature of 260 to 290 C, and rubber is fully dissolved. Use is made of a perforated basket for treatment of raw material. After full dissolution of rubber, the obtained rubberbitumen compound is drained off. The residue of soot, mineral components and the metal cord being in the basket is washed with benzine. The latter is distilled off with water vapor, and after that the solid residue is crushed, and metal cord and soot are extracted from it. The device has an extractor in the form a cylindrical body, having a loading hole in the upper part, reagent inlet and outlet pipe unions. The extractor is provided with a perforated basket for the raw material to be treated, made of longitudinal pillars with gaps, with a flat perforated bottom and cover in the form of a plate with a perforated bottom. The device has assemblies for loading of raw material and condensation of vapors of gasoline extractive reagent. Each device is connected to the respective pipe union of the extractor. The device for evaporation of gasoline extractive reagent is connected to the extractor in liquid and vapor phases. The obtained rubberbitumen compounds are used as material for damp proofing, roofing, for preparation of bituminous concrete.
