FIELD: manufacture of engines; devices for heating fuel for internal combustion engines, oils, chladons and other dielectric liquids. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing consisting of two members 1 and 2 forming chamber 3 by means of recesses made on inner end surfaces of members 1 and 2 and located opposite each other. Housing is provided with supply and discharge branch pipes 4 and 5 which are communicated with chamber 3 where flat self-adjusting semiconductor heating element is arranged; heating element is made in form of posistor 6 having form of parallelogram; it is mounted in chamber 3 forming slotted passages 7 whose cross-sectional area is found from formula F=G/m provided 200 ≤ m ≤ 2000 where F is cross-sectional area of slotted passage, sq. m; G is flow rate of liquid, kg/s; m is mass flow rate of liquid, kg/sq.m.s. Heating element is mounted in chamber 3 in such position that its fins oriented along flow of liquid adjoin inner walls of chamber. Device is provided with power supply unit for feeding the heating element; it consists of current leads mounted flush with inner end surface on either side of posistor 6 and contacts made from sheet flexible material. Contacts are received by grooves made on end surface; they connect current leads with chamber 3; on other side, they are brought out beyond grooves and are tightly pressed to posistor 6.
