FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device to supply heat to cooling liquid of internal combustion engine has metal housing secured on outer wall of engine cylinder block, electric heating elements with current supply system and insulator. Device is made in form of separate self-controlled heating modules installed with decentralization on outer walls of engine cylinder block. Dielectric plate with holes in form of guides for springs and heating elements is installed in heating module. Springs are fastened at one side to metal plates with heating elements attached to plates, and at other side, to common current-carrying plate which is connected to supply source by means of current-carrying stud through insulator. Posistors are used as heating elements.
EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of prestarting heating.
