FIELD: m-bit data word to modulated signal conversion. SUBSTANCE: n-bit code word is generated for each data word of sequence. Code words obtained are converted into modulated signals. Code words are distributed within one group (G11, G12) of first type and within one group (G2) of second type. Set of code words (V1, V2, V3, V4) depends on encoding status (S1, S2, S3, S4). Number of unique bit combinations in encoding process may be defined by code words in sequence. EFFECT: reduced number of bits per data word. 37 cl, 28 dwg
