FIELD: information storage equipment. SUBSTANCE: method for converting sequence of m-bit information words into modulated signal (where m is integer) assumes that n-bit code word is output for each received information word (n is integer greater than m), so that output code words are converted into modulated signal. Said method involves converting sequence of information words into sequence of code words in conformance to conversion rules, so that respective modulated signal conforms to given condition and code words belong to first type group. Output of code words that belong to first type group leads to first encoding state type, which depends on related group. Output of code words that belong to second type group leads to second encoding state type, which depends on related group and information word, which is related to code word. Goal of invention is achieved, for example, by selection of code word from set which belongs to given encoding state or from set that belongs to another encoding state of first type without destruction of preset condition depending on low-frequency spectrum of modulated signal. Method may be used for codes of 8/15, 8/16 type and other using mechanisms of encoding states. In addition, invention discloses design of record carrier, signal, encoding and decoding device, device for information storage, method for manufacturing of record carrier.
