FIELD: separation of free moisture and oil from gas, compressed air in particular; mechanical engineering; chemical industry, construction industry and other industries. SUBSTANCE: moisture-and-oil separator has housing, cylindrical separation chamber, vortex chamber, tangential device for introducing compressed air from main, separated liquid phase trap, settling chamber with units for forming rarefaction in its cavity which is made in form of recirculating pipe line whose inlet end is inserted into near-axis zone of vortex tube and outlet end is located inside settling chamber. Pipe line is provided with throttling control member; device introducing compressed air into vortex chamber is made in form of rectangular tangential passage provided with cross-sectional area control unit made in form of wedge-shaped damper mounted for translational motion ensured by threaded screw pair; rectangular passage is directly connected with compressed air main. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency reduction of losses of compressed air; ease in maintenance; reduced hydraulic resistance to inlet flow of compressed air; avoidance of entrapping liquid by main flow. 8 cl, 4 dwg
