FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: yarn feeder designed for flat knitting machines and elastic yarn has a yarn tension transducer, which is provided with a calibration device. It removes yarn from the pin belonging to the yarn tension transducer at time moments when it is possible without influencing the operation of the yarn feeder. These time moments are preferably the time slots, when no yarn feed is needed. After removal of yarn from the pin the zero point is balanced, to which it becomes possible to measure and compensate for the drift of the zero points of the entire system of transducers, the measuring circuit inclusive. EFFECT: enhanced uniformity of yarn tension and improved quality of produced articles. 25 cl, 10 dwg
