FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying two-dimensional echocardiography and planimetry techniques for determining myocardium and left ventricle image area changes at the level of mitral valve, papillary muscles and apical segments. Myocardium contractility index is calculated from the obtained values using mathematical formulas. Myocardium contractility index being equal to 0.31-0.57, contractility is considered to correspond to norm. Myocardium contractility index being less than 0.31, contractility is considered to be low. Myocardium contractility index being greater than 0.57, contractility is considered to be high. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of method. 1 dwg
