FIELD: organic chemistry, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: invention describes the novel derivatives of amino acids or aminoalcohols of the formula (I) in any of groups I, II where N means nitrogen. Group I: X means CHR₂OH where R₂ means H, (lower alkyl)-amine or (lower alkyl)-imidazole; Y means Base-(CH₂)_n- where Base means nonhalogenated variable nucleoside base where n = 1-7; A means carbonyl; Z means H or OR₃ where R₃ means H, lower alkyl, (lower alkyl)-amine or (lower alkyl)-imidazole; W means CHR₄OH where R₄ means H, (lower alkyl)-amine or (lower alkyl)- -imidazole. Group II: A means carbonyl; X means Base-(CH₂)_n- where Base means nonhalogenated variable nucleoside base where n = 1-3; Y means -CH₂OH; W means -CH₂OH; Z means H. Compounds are analogs of oligonucleotides where furanose ring occurring in natural nucleic acid is substituted with amino acid or modified aminoalcohol residues. In some variants new compounds are useful for nonsense control of gene expression. Compounds can be used also as probes for hybridization of nucleic acids or as primers.
