FIELD: electronic equipment, magnetic recording, in particular, operations with heavy data arrays. SUBSTANCE: toroidal objects, which are made from magnetic material, are arranged into structures, which have closed magnetic flux with specific rotation direction. When alternative information is stored, rotation direction of closed magnetic flux in respective magnetic objects changes under influence of intersecting biasing and back magnetization fields, which correspond in time and level. When information is read, method involves application of alternating bias field to information and reference objects and detecting output signals, which response profile determines information unit, which is stored in information object. Memory register consists of toroidal member, in which vortex magnetic field is produced. Bias bus is located outside of toroidal member. It generates magnetic field in toroidal member, which is perpendicular to vortex field. This results in possibility to design random access memory unit with multilayer structure and recording density of 100 Mb per sq. cm in non-volatile layer, which provides durable information storage. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 15 cl, 18 dwg
