FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is meant for reducing moisture content of gas used for cooling down turbogenerators or their preservation treatment for long- time outage or shutdown. According to invention, gas coolers of electrical machine that has stator, rotor, gas coolers with cooling members, cooling- water delivery and discharging pipelines, drain pipelines are supplied with hot water injected therein upon machine shutdown through water supply pipelines to prevent moisture condensation on stator and rotor parts followed by delivery of cold water whose temperature is below dew point for moisture release at location points of gas coolers. Method provides for dispensing with special gas dryers. EFFECT: facilitated procedure, improved operating reliability of machines. 5 cl, 1 dwg
