FIELD: electrical and electromechanical engineering; large electrical machines such as turboalternators.
SUBSTANCE: in order to prevent insulation wetting on bars and on their points of interconnection into winding in case of poor sealing in cooling path liquid circulation through stator winding bars of proposed electrical machine is effected due to vacuum created in outlet manifold. According to first design alternate proposed electrical machine has winding bars with hollow conductors terminating in soldered lugs with pipe unions forming bar heads insulated from adjacent heads by insulating boxes or partitions and its hoses joined with inlet or outlet manifolds communicating with cooling system affording cooling liquid supply to manifolds and heated liquid discharge therefrom; it also has tank wherefrom cooling liquid is conveyed by means of main pump through water coolers over pipeline to stator winding and from the latter returns to tank; novelty is that inlet manifold communicates with tank through vertical or tilted pipeline whose bottom end is dipped through maximal possible depth in tank mounted at bottom elevation. According to second design alternate proposed electrical machine winding has bars with hollow conductors terminating in soldered lugs with pipe unions forming bar heads insulated from adjacent heads by insulating boxes or partitions and with hoses connected to inlet and outlet manifolds communicating with cooling system affording cooling liquid supply to manifolds and heated liquid discharge therefrom; machine also has tank wherefrom cooling liquid is conveyed by means of main pump through water coolers over pipeline to stator winding and then returns to tank; novelty is that outlet manifold communicates through pipeline with rarefaction (vacuum) region of pump additionally installed in cooling system; pump head zone communicates with tank; outlet manifold communicates with additionally installed bowl disposed at elevation close to that of inlet manifold upper surface whereto cooling liquid is supplied from cooling system pump and is held in this bowl at pressure not over that of medium around stator winding, for instance due to installing float valve on pipeline entering the bowl and used to convey liquid from main pump and to provide communication of top part of bowl with stator winding surrounding medium.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of electrical machine liquid-cooled stator windings.
