FIELD: production of chlorine and sodium hydroxide by electrolysis of sodium chloride solution with mercury-pool cathode; regeneration of electrolyte (anolyte) depleted in sodium chloride. SUBSTANCE: anolyte is treated with hydrochloric acid and processed with vacuum removing main amount of elementary chlorine; then sodium thiosulfate is added and then calcium chloride is added and anolyte is finally saturated by dissolving commercial calcium chloride and soda cleaning is performed. EFFECT: reduced losses of mercury with slurry and consequently improved ecological safety. 2 cl
