FIELD: chemical technology, more particularly isolation of chloral from ethanol chlorination products. SUBSTANCE: method comprises treating organic product with water during heating and boiling operations. Ethyl alcohol chlorination product is treated with water at boiling temperature, and chloral is simultaneously transformed into vapor-gas phase which is condensed, and chloral-free liquid phase is directed for decontamination. Method makes it possible to reduce chloral losses together with exit liquid phase, and consumption of reagents intended for decontamination of said phase is thus reduced. EFFECT: more efficient isolation method. 4 cl, 4 ex, 1 tbl
