FIELD: radar detection and ranging, in particular, secondary monopulse radars, in which automatic phase-lock control in through monopulse channels is effected in response to signals of a remote pilot transponder. SUBSTANCE: an additional functional mode of the automatic phase-lock control until in response to internal pilot signals, not including the antenna radiators, is introduced. Reliability of the multipulse radars becomes independent of serviceability of the pilot transponder. Change-over of the automatic phase-lock control unit to this functioning is effected automatically at vanishing of signals of the pilot transponder; the structure of the automatic phase-lock control unit is brought to the condition required for processing of internal pilot signals. At an appearance of signals of the pilot transponder the initial functional mode of the automatic phase-lock control unit is automatically restored. Both functional modes of the automatic phase-lock control unit are periodically identified. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of the monopulse radar. 2 cl, 2 dwg
